The open tear is about 4 inches wide by 2 inches high. The biggest problem the DJ has is a large piece missing to the inferior border of the rear panel beginning at the edge of the spine and continuing about 2/3 of the way to the fold. The front and back flaps both have a diagonal cut at the top edge but the price is still totally intact. There is edge wear to the spine with a couple open tears to the head of the spine and also generalized edge wear to the top and bottom edges of the front panel. The date "1929" is showing on the top of the copyright page with NO other statement of printings, making it a TRUE 1st Printing. All four corners of the DJ are clipped, which appears it i's the way the book came from the publisher. The DJ is price-intact ($2.50) and is still quite bright, considering it's age. I have a copy of a sample signature by the author from an autograph authentication site laid in. There is an inscription to a previous owner by the author along with her very clear signature on the ffep. There is a previous owners note on the top of the rfep. The original brownish / purplish cloth boards are in excellent shape with the gold lettering on the front board and spine quite still quite bright. The book is tight and square with an intact top stain.
